My approach is to share the basics and meet on an intermittent basis rather than weekly lessons but that can be organised too depending on your needs. Handpan teaching for me is more guided instruction and showing you concepts and pathways as I know we can get stuck on certain things and in our heads too much.
It's important that as handpan players we feel what we are playing but also understand the underlying theory of what we are trying to achieve musically when we play - so that is another concept I talk a lot about in my teaching too. It's very open-minded, self-directed learning that centres around playing with a good sound, comfortable mind and a steady pulse. And you can ask as many questions as you like!
