Join award-winning handpan artist Lachlan Hawkins as he shares the fundamentals of the healing and mesmerising sounds of the handpan in a small group setting with those new to the instrument. This workshop will be themed around basic touch and technique, simple patterns and rhythms to encourage strong foundations and confidence to explore ideas further on your own.

Topics covered:

• Intro to the Handpan - Origins of the Instrument, Layout, Stance

• Striking technique - touch, patterns and basic rhythms

• Questions on acquiring a handpan and the artform as a whole
